By accessing or using RoomieNG (the "Platform"), operated by RoomieNG Limited (CAC RC-9700854), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users including students, NYSC corps members, tenants, landlords, agents, and scouts.
RoomieNG is available to individuals aged 16 and above. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
Landlords and agents must only post properties they legally own or have authority to list. All listing information — photos, descriptions, prices, and locations — must be accurate and current. RoomieNG reserves the right to delist any property found to be fraudulent, misleading, or in violation of these terms. A Listing Shield Fee of N5,000 applies to each listing posted.
Students, NYSC corps members, and tenants may place bids on available listings. Free accounts may maintain up to 2 active bids simultaneously. Premium accounts enjoy unlimited active bids. Once a landlord approves a bid, the student has 12 hours to complete escrow payment. Failure to pay within this window forfeits the bid and the listing returns to available status.
All rental and property sale payments must be processed through the RoomieNG Escrow system powered by Paystack. Funds are held securely until a Scout physically verifies the property or the tenant confirms possession. RoomieNG charges a flat escrow fee of N5,000 on rental transactions and N15,000 on property sale transactions. Payments made outside the RoomieNG platform are not protected and RoomieNG accepts no liability for such transactions.
Scouts are independently verified individuals who physically inspect properties before escrow funds are released. Scout verification costs N6,000 per job (N4,000 paid to Scout, N2,000 retained by RoomieNG). Scout reports are final for purposes of escrow release. Scouts must conduct inspections honestly and must not accept payments outside the platform. Fraudulent Scout reports will result in permanent account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
The following are strictly prohibited: posting fraudulent or misleading listings; accepting or requesting payments outside the escrow system; impersonating another user or entity; using the platform for any illegal activity; attempting to circumvent the Scout verification system; harassing other users; creating multiple accounts to abuse free bid limits; and sharing account credentials with third parties.
Premium subscriptions are billed at N3,500 per month, N6,200 per term (4 months), or N38,000 per year. Subscriptions are non-refundable. Premium status unlocks unlimited bids, priority listing position, enhanced AI access, and other benefits. RoomieNG reserves the right to modify premium features with 14 days' notice.
Users who refer new users via their referral code or link earn 14 free Premium days per successful signup. Abuse of the referral system (including self-referrals or bulk fake signups) will result in referral credits being voided and may lead to account termination.
In cases where the Scout report conflicts with the tenant's experience, users may file a dispute via the platform within 48 hours of property handover. RoomieNG will review the dispute within 5 business days and issue a ruling. RoomieNG's decision on escrow disputes is final. In cases of confirmed fraud, RoomieNG will issue a full refund from the escrow and may pursue the fraudulent party.
The RoomieNG name, logo, platform design, code, and all associated content are the intellectual property of RoomieNG Limited. The RoomieNG name and logo are subject to trademark registration under the Nigerian Trademarks Registry. Unauthorized reproduction, copying, or distribution of any RoomieNG assets is prohibited.
RoomieNG is a marketplace platform and does not own any of the properties listed. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of listings beyond what our Scout verification system confirms. Our liability in any dispute shall not exceed the escrow fee collected on the transaction in question. Users engage with properties at their own discretion.
RoomieNG reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or is flagged repeatedly by other users. Terminated users forfeit any pending bids, credits, or referral rewards.
RoomieNG may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app announcements.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
